Want to know how Swiss Specialty Saturdays came about?

Four years after immigrating to Texas from Switzerland, Sylvia’s parents, Roland and Lotti Lanz opened Roland’s Swiss Pastry in 1962. Roland’s Bakery quickly became famous for their Black Forest Cake, Apple Strudel, Rye Bread, Gingerbread Men, and Cappuccino with Fresh Whipped Cream. After 30 years, Roland sold his bakery to begin exclusively making Gingerbread Houses in Katy, Texas.

After 10 years, the new owners of Roland’s Swiss Pastry transitioned the retail bakery operation to a wholesale-only bakery, servicing hotels and restaurants around the Houston area.

Now they provide Kindli Haus with the same specialty products Roland introduced to Texans years ago.

After over a decade of retail absence, Kindli Haus now brings Roland’s Specialties to the Heights.
